I'm not 100% satisfied with Aimp and may replace it if I find something better.WARNING: The components required for this theme do not work with foobar 64bit Contribute to the theme I'm glad for all the other recommendations though. But when I do, Aimp is basically what I use. I almost never play music on my computer anymore. Anyway, it's so much easier to play music on my phone, either on the phone itself, or a Bluetooth speaker, or my car's audio, or my Bluetooth headphones, than it is on the computer.

I use Spotify, and on Android I would use Poweramp, and on iOS I just use the built-in iTunes (but I use the Cesium frontend as it's dark and has queueing features). The idea is that I have this pocketable thing the size of a cassette tape with an HD screen on it that can store thousands of songs. Whether it's Android or iOS, it doesn't really matter. What I have done is, I've shifted the job of playing music from my computer to my phone. Though iTunes' performance leaves a lot to be desired, so maybe it should be on the faster machine. I know iTunes is not the best, but I have an iPhone and I need iTunes installed somewhere to manage my iPhone, which is why it's not on the desktop. On the PC, I use Aimp on the desktop and iTunes on the laptop. I didn't use Winamp's media library when it got added, and resented players that used them for the longest time. I admit, I haven't found a full replacement for Winamp on the computer. I don't feel like there is any better alternative currently, even AIMP comes close. ITunes (old version) - I don't support this one bit.ĮDIT 4 - UPDATE: It's been a month and I've gone back to Winamp. Mini mode, so it can be always on top and the current track can be viewed - a plus.ĮDIT: Forgot to mention, Windows 10 64-bit.ĮDIT 2: Great responses, will summarize for future readers: My needs are:Ĭan display a list of albums - I used the plugin AlbumList in Winamp for this. Seeing as it was last updated a decade ago, looking for a new one but I'm not in touch at all with what's going on, and from my experience both WMP and iTunes have been lacking.
